Meet Dr. Armstrong
Dr. Tom Armstrong graduated in the top level of his class
in 1980 at UCLA School of Dentistry. He completed a residency in Advanced
General Dentistry at the University of Oregon
in Portland in 1981.
With an active interest in the specialty of Sleep Medicine, Dr. Armstrong is a local dental leader in providing new treatments for patients with snoring, sleep apnea, and CPAP intolerance problems. His goal is to get the word out to all local health care providers about the effectiveness of FDA-approved Oral Appliance therapy for the many people with sleep breathing conditions.
Along with his dental team members, Dr. Armstrong has received special training from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Sleep Group Solutions, and the Exceptional Dental Institute in the new area of Sleep Disorders Dentistry (also known as Dental Sleep Medicine).
Dr. Armstrong is currently a member of both the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). These are major national organizations whose members have a particular interest in Sleep Medicine and new ways to improve patients' health through better sleep.
To keep up to date with the newest technologies in general dentistry, Dr. Armstrong is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and has attended courses
throughout the country in Cosmetic Dentistry, Implants, and other Advanced
Dentistry topics. He has completed
the curriculum in the Esthetic Dentistry Residency at Esthetic Professionals continuing education center in Woodland Hills, California. Having completed over 1000 hours in continuing education, Dr. Armstrong stays current with the latest developments in dental care and ways to solve dental problems of all types.
Active in dental
organizations, Dr. Armstrong has served as President of the Kern County
Dental Society, and has been a member of the Council on Dental Care of the California Dental
Association in Sacramento.
Raised in Bakersfield, Dr. Armstrong has
been a dentist here since 1984, treating patients of all ages in all areas of Cosmetic, Implant, and General Dentistry, along with the growing field of Sleep Disorders Dentistry.
